Week 14 - Playoff Update 2024
If the math isn’t mathing for you, here’s a quick breakdown of what happened yesterday and where things stand heading into the playoffs.
Current Standings (if nothing changes tonight):
Scarpitti
Schilling
Hayden
Greg
Scarpitti – 100% Playoff Chances
It’s a lock—Scarpitti is in, period. There’s no point in entertaining scenarios that could knock him out because they simply won’t happen. Even with outlandish comebacks by Anthony or Gangus, the season points gap is insurmountable. If Greg happens to pull out the win tonight, Scarpitti would only slide down one spot into 2nd.
Schilling – 99% Playoff Chances
A win over Graham also locks Schilling in. Graham still has Jakobi Meyers left tonight but needs 43 points to pull off the upset. Yahoo’s giving Schilling a 99% chance to win, and 9 wins would seal the deal.
Hayden – 96% Playoff Chances
A win over Coyne is all Hayden needs. He’s up by 39 points heading into Monday Night Football, with Drake London and Will Reichard (MIN kicker) still to go. Coyne would need a massive and I mean massive night from Bijan Robinson and the Atlanta Defense to make it interesting.
Greg – 98% Playoff Chances
Even with the loss to Scarpitti, Greg’s season point total keeps him ahead of Garrett, Gangus, and Anthony in any tiebreaker. The only longshot threat is a comeback win from Gangus or Anthony—both unlikely.
Oh, and the #1 overall seed is still in play. Greg trails Scarpitti by 16 points heading into MNF, with DJ Moore left to play (vs. Minnesota). Scarpitti isn't done yet either. He also has the MIN Defense left to go. Yahoo’s giving Greg a 12% shot at pulling it off.
Garrett – 2% Playoff Chances
This dude almost pulled off the unthinkable... again. Just a few weeks ago, he was dead in the water at 5-7, no hope in sight. Fast forward 3 straight wins, and suddenly he’s knocking on the playoff door.
But with Hayden standing guard, it doesn’t look like he’s letting Garrett in. What else can he do? He did his part with a win. It looks like he'll get the loss from Anthony, but now it all comes down to Bijan Robinson and the Atlanta Defense putting up 65 points tonight. Stranger things have happened... I guess?
Gangus – 4% Playoff Chances
It’s win or bust for Gangus. Season points won't help him. He’s down nearly 40 heading into tonight, with D’Andre Swift and Darnell Mooney still to go. He’ll need 50+ points between those two and a heart attack from Justin Jefferson to have a shot. Yahoo gives him a 4% chance.
Anthony – 5% Playoff Chances
Same deal—Anthony needs a win. He’s down 45 points with Aaron Jones and Brock Bowers still to play. If he wants to see the postseason, he'll need Younghoe Koo to break his leg while Jones and Bowers combine for 50+ points. On top of that, he’d need Greg to lose to sneak into the playoffs. This is more than a hail mary. This is hopeless.
To sum up, Scarpitti’s already popped the champagne, Schilling and Hayden are sitting pretty, Greg’s still got a shot at the #1 seed, and Garrett, Gangus, and Anthony are praying for Monday Night Football miracles. BRUH, Are you ready for some FOOTBALL?? 🍿
Will we see any upsets tonight? Or do we already have our final 4?
I believe in miracles.
We've got our final 4.
